CCM Region One February 6th -10th, 2012 ccm how it works
The Coordinating Committee Meeting (CCM) organized by the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (MoBSE) every two months got underway at the Regions to give stakeholders the opportunity to deliberate on pertinent issues affecting the education sector, but this CCM was husted by Region One Education Directorate in Kanifing on Monday February 6th to 10th, 2012.
The meeting is attended by the Permanent Secretary, MoBSE, Mr. Baboucarr Buoy, and his two deputy permanent secretaries, Mr. Ebrima Sissawo and Mr. Momodou Sanneh.
The opening ceremony started with prayers and was followed by remarks from the Permanent Secretary, who also chairs the ceremony. PS took the opportunity to introduce two new members to the meeting.
He also encouraged members to participate fully in the meeting, saying “CCM is a structure that serves all stakeholders”.
He added that the CCM is a tool that helps to improve the performance of the sector. “Its benefits are beyond what it was originally structured,” he highlighted.
Some of the issues to be deliberated on in the five-day activity filled program include implementation updates, draft Inset policy, French pilot program, pre-reading manual, development of professional standards as well as school visits amongst others.
